WEEKEND PANEL: Emily (& Dream) of Emerald Hill’ – strong female characters in Singapore theatre and film

Emily of Emerald Hill written by Stella Kon takes its place amongst the canon of seminal Singapore plays, featuring, as it does, an iconic strong female character Emily Gan.

The recently completed SG50 supported short film ‘Dream of Emerald Hill’ tells the story of Rosie Seow aka Kheng Lim, pioneer Singapore actress and mother of Stella Kon.

Come join writer Stella Kon, actress Margaret Chan (the first Singaporean Emily) as well as London based Singaporean actress/filmmaker Jennifer Lim who stars as Rosie in Dream of Emerald Hill (written by Daniel York and directed by MingyuLin) in a panel discussion on the presence of strong female characters in Singapore theatre and film.
