T. Sasitharan (Sasi) is Co-Founder and Director of the Intercultural Theatre Institute (http://iti.edu.sg/), formerly the Theatre Training & Research Programme (TTRP). Together with the late Kuo Pao Kun, he conceived and established TTRP in 2000. Prior to that, he was Artistic Director of The Substation (1996-2000), and theatre and visual arts critic with The Straits Times (1988-1996). Between 1983 and 1989, he taught Philosophy at the National University of Singapore.
For more than 30 years, Sasi has been actively involved as an actor/performer and producer in the local theatre scene. He has performed in more than 25 plays directed by Singaporeans Chandra Lingam, Max Le Blond, Ong Keng Sen and Kuo Pao Kun. He also writes and lectures internationally on art, theatre training and practice, and Singapore culture.
